Prince of Persia

“The gods have a plan for you.” The only other TV spot that aired during the Superbowl that wasn’t already online before was for Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I know everyone isn’t too keen on this movie, but I’m still very excited for it, I don’t know why. I loved the video game and I don’t have any complaints about this (no, I don’t care about Jake Gyllenhaal playing the “Persian”). And I love the reversal halfway into this TV spot. I think that may be a hint that we’re going to see some big time reversal moments in this movie and I can’t wait to see that. Anyway, I’ve said enough, check out the new Superbowl TV spot!

that is quite a convincing english accent from jake. well it would be if we spoke like that.

looks quite good. it’ll probably a movie that i’ll see if there is nothing else to see. As long as it is entertaining, i don’t mind.

the main character of the prince of persia is not persian. he is a foreigner who travelled to persia. the persian princess then took an interest in him but the evil jaffar wanted her. As the jaffar was ruling in the sultans place (he was away) he locked up the nameless foreigner and told the princess she had an hour to decide to marry him or die. The foreigner escaped, killed the jaffar and rescued the princess. The only reward for his actions that he wanted was to take the princess’ hand in marrige to which the sultan agreed to (when he got back). Thus he became the Prince of Persia

i got no problem with the prince being a white guy as if you play the 1989 prince of persia, its obviously a pixelated white dude. The movie is based far more on the rebooted Ubisoft created games. Overall i will probably see this just not at the theatre. It all looks a bit too much like a cookie cutter summer movie. I do hope to be suprised though but as with most movies today, lower expecations going in are better than thinking something is gonna be good
