But the cowboys/brothers couldn’t make one last comeback when it mattered most in the finale, falling to Dan and Jordan. “We thought we could catch up to them right up until we came out on the tunnel and saw them on the mat already,” Jet, 30, tells TVGuide.com. “There was obviously disappointment that we were second, but you take the bad with the good. Bret Michaels Still In ICU, Doctors Seek ‘Source Of Bleeding’

According to an update posted on Bret Michaels’ website and Facebook page, the singer/ reality-TV star remains in intensive care after suffering a brain hemorrhage late Thursday.

“Everyone at Michaels Entertainment would like to thank all fans and friends for their continued thoughts and prayers through this difficult time,” the post reads. “At this point Bret remains in ICU in critical condition. He is under 24-hour doctors’ care and supervision. We are hopeful that further tests will locate the source of the bleeding, which has still not been located. As we all know Bret is a fighter and we are hopeful that once all is complete the slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness, etc. will be eliminated and all functions will return to normal.

“More information will be posted as it becomes available,” the post concludes.
Despite reports late Friday that Michaels’ condition had “stabilized,” his website was updated Saturday, noting that he remained in critical condition.

“There are several incorrect reports on Bret’s condition,” the post reads. “Bret remains in critical condition at an undisclosed location. Further tests are being ran and information will be updated in the coming days.”

TMZ reported late Friday that Michaels was “awake, in good spirits and talking” citing Ambre Lake, the season-two winner of Michaels’ “Rock of Love” reality show. The site reported that Lake has spoken with people close to Michaels who said he was “stabilized and conscious.” Lake’s status update on the 47-year-old singer was said to coincide with another unidentified “Rock of Love” contestant who is in touch with the other members of Poison.

Michaels was rushed to the hospital late Thursday evening, where doctors discovered he had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, or bleeding at the base of his brain stem, a rep for the singer confirmed to MTV News.

“After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause [of the hemorrhage],” a source told People magazine, in a report that Michaels’ rep said was accurate. “[It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation.”

T.I. Completes Prison Sentence But Still Has Curfew

Clifford “T.I.” Harris is officially a free man — mostly. On Friday (March 26), the rapper completed his prison sentence, stemming from a 2007 arrest for attempting to illegally purchase firearms. The MC was given his walking papers by the Georgia courts and his jail term is complete, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records.

Originally given 366 days in prison, T.I. was released to a halfway house in December but according to his lawyer Steve Sadow, Tip has been on home incarceration for the past 30 days. Under the terms of his home confinement, Tip had to sleep at his house and be home by 11 p.m., or 1 a.m. if he was working.

Sadow told MTV News that Tip now has three years of “supervised release,” a.k.a. probation. This includes 23 more days of home incarceration under the aforementioned terms, regular visits with a probation officer and he must have permission to travel. T.I. also must complete approximately 400 more hours of community service.

Before his prison stint began, T.I. made an arrangement with prosecutors in which he would complete 1,500 hours of community service, 1,000 of which needed to be completed before he would be formally sentenced. In exchange, he was given the 366-day jail sentence, which allowed him the opportunity for early release. T.I. officially began serving his time in May, meaning he ended up doing 10 months of the year-and-a-day bid.

Since being moved to the halfway house in December, T.I. has been recording the follow-up to his 2008 album, Paper Trail, and earlier this month, he released a brand-new single titled “I’m Back.” The record is the first release from Tip’s forthcoming, still-untitled album, which is scheduled for release on August 24. His film, “Takers,” co-starring Idris Elba, Chris Brown and others, is scheduled to come out on August 20.

T.I. has also been delving out verses in recent weeks. He jumped on “Guilty” from Usher’s new album, Raymond vs. Raymond, and he also appears on a new Jamie Foxx record called “Winner,” which features Justin Timberlake (and recently leaked onto the Internet).

50 Cent Says Uptempo Black Magic LP Is ‘Still Hip-Hop’

Earlier this week, an overseas interview with 50 Cent hit the Web in which he said his upcoming LP, Black Magic, would have a different feel.

“I went to a nightclub afterparty,” 50 told reporter Jonas Pettersen. “It’s a little different music going on before I got there. They play your music when you come. But the music they played before they started playing a lot of what I created was more uptempo, more dance. I wanted to make a song like that. So I went into the studio. Because I’m traveling with my live band, I took my band with me and sequenced it and recorded the actual record while I was out there. I did two other songs I had production for. I had been writing those songs for a while. So I finished them and recorded them while I was out.”

The G-Unit General is leaning toward dance music? Fif says not so fast. He clarified his creative direction when he called into U.K. DJ Tim Westwood’s show the other day.

“I got a joint that I did that was real uptempo,” 50 told Westwood. “It’s a different type of vibe. It’s still 50 Cent. It’s official. If you heard the record, you’d feel different. My Black Magic album, I’ve been listening to different types of music. I just wanna create something that’s outta the box. I’m using different song formats. I’ll write a rap song in the sequence of a different kind of record. A traditional hip-hop record may have three 16-bar verses. To write it in a different formant instead of the way a traditional rap record is written, to experiment with different things, it’s still hip-hop music. It’s still 50 Cent content; it’s just written in a different way.”

50 also talked about getting sued for posting a sex tape of one of the mothers of Rick Ross’ children online.

“That wasn’t me; that was Pimpin’ Curly,” 50 said of his comedic alter ego. “When a person tries to say, ‘You’ve done something that’s created mental harm to them in some way,’ then they might wanna consider the recordings of Rick Ross saying she’s an actual call girl. Or the pamphlets I’m showing you in the actual tape that’s saying she’s available. How distraught is she? They think I bought the tape. I didn’t even buy it.”

Slash Says Velvet Revolver Still Searching for Undiscovered Singer

Slash didn’t have trouble finding a host of singers for his upcoming solo album, but the guitarist tells Rolling Stone the hunt for a new Velvet Revolver vocalist is still ongoing — and once he finishes touring behind his own record, tracking down a new frontperson is a priority. “I think Duff [McKagan] is doing something with Jane’s Addiction right now so we’re all sort of all over the place doing whatever until we can all regroup,” he says. “We did listen to a lot of singers, but there hasn’t been anybody that’s going to be the guy so far.”

Though a few big-name singers have offered themselves up for the job — including Slipknot’s Corey Taylor — Slash doesn’t think the new vocalist will be somebody as famous as original frontman Scott Weiland. “It’s really hard to do something with a voice that’s already really well known in an original band,” he says. “We want someone who is really good that hasn’t been recognized by the whole country as being amazing, but somebody who is just on the precipice of just being discovered.”

Slash also says the new singer will likely be easier to work with than Axl Rose and Weiland — two of the most famously volatile frontmen in rock history. “To give credit where credit is due, those are two of the most talented fucking rock & roll personalities and singers in the world,” he says. “It’s something about my personality that sees the good in everybody and fucking loves a challenge, likes the chaos and all that. I have no real regrets about working with either of them, but sometimes it was difficult to succeed.”

Alt Text: Who’s Still Excited About the iPad?

Tons of iPads are currently being assembled in a secret underground Taiwanese bunker accessible only by helipad or telepad, and the general reaction of people on the web is strident, viciously defended indifference.

Nonetheless, there’s no real doubt that Steve Jobs will sell an iPad or 3 million when the tablets become available later this year. The question is, who will be first in line to snap them up? Let’s look at the people who are really excited about the iPad.

Cats

If the hand-warmer app can make its way to the iPad, Apple’s new device may become the new favorite place for cats worldwide to sit, beating out such favorites as “a single piece of paper,” “the remote control” and “your face.” It remains to be seen how much heat the iPad can give off, but if previous Apple notebooks are any indication, sous-vide chefs might also adopt the iPad as mobile cooking stations.

Star Trek cosplayers

The Trek/Apple connection is nothing new. Many people saw an iInfluence on the bridge of the latest Star Trek movie, and this new device looks a lot like the PADDs used in Star Trek: The Next Generation and later series. I was never able to figure out how “boop boop bip” translated into “divert the secondary inertial dampers into the aft shield array, modulate the transporter frequencies according to known Ferengi phase patterns, and slip acid into Picard’s tea,” but now I know: There’s an app for that.

Screen-protector manufacturers

The iPhone screen is resistant to scratches, but not impervious. This creates a market for companies to charge 10 bucks for three pieces of plastic and a wipey-cloth. A larger screen adds half a cent’s worth more plastic, and another $5 to the price for those willing to pay for advanced protection. More cost-conscious folks will just wrap their precious iPads in veggie bags from the supermarket. Inexpensive, and the quick fix probably reduces carbon emissions or something.

Goliaths

These humanoids, introduced in the Dungeons and Dragons supplement Races of Stone, are so large that regular iPhones don’t reach from their rocklike ears to their cavernous mouths. A +2 to Constitution and the ability to re-roll Athletics checks doesn’t help when you can’t call home from the grocery store to find out what kind of frozen chicken nuggets your wife prefers. While Goliaths are eagerly awaiting the iPad, they’re already lobbying Apple to introduce one with full phone capabilities.

Me

Somehow, we’ve become a living-room laptop household, which means that hypothetical questions are instantly entered into Google, any song mentioned is pulled up on YouTube and URLs are mailed at the slightest provocation. Astonishingly, we still get visitors, and my laptop often gets pressed into service for mail-checking and chimp-video display.

My laptop is a professional work machine, however, and contains many important documents and bookmarks, not all of which have “naughty” in the title.

I’ll be in line with the hordes on iPad Day Zero. The weird little device is going to sit on my coffee table with a “Go Ahead and Play With Me” sticker on it, and my MacBook is going back into my work bag, where it belongs. Until someone wants to show me something cool in Flash, I guess.
