‘Eclipse’ Stars To Present Exclusive Clip At 2010 MTV Movie Awards

You didn’t think we were going to have a vampire-less 2010 MTV Movie Awards, did you? That there’d be no werewolf sniffing out the Golden Popcorn? No beautiful high school girl from Forks, Washington, smiling shyly at the crowd?

Like we’d do that to you! “Twilight”-verse, prepare, because Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be appearing live and in-house at the Movie Awards on Sunday, June 6, to introduce an exclusive clip from “Eclipse.”

Just let that soak in for a minute, OK? Because there’s more. “Twilight” franchise co-star Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley) will be MTV International’s official red-carpet correspondent, reporting live from the scene outside the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, where some of Hollywood’s biggest names will be stopping by to chat.

This marks the third year in a row that the Movie Awards are bringing you fresh “Twilight” footage. In 2008, the MTV News preshow brought you the first sneak peek at a scene from the original vampire flick. The next year, we premiered an exclusive expanded trailer for “New Moon.” And come June 6, Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner will be bringing you a never-before-seen clip from “Eclipse,” which hits theaters on June 30.

It’ll be a big evening for the “Twilight” kids. “New Moon” is up for five nominations: Best Movie, Best Female Performance (Stewart), Best Male Performance (Pattinson and Lautner), Best Kiss (Stewart and Pattinson) and Global Superstar (Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner). Fan voting in all of these categories is now under way at MovieAwards.MTV.com and will stay open through Saturday, June 5. But voting for Best Movie will stay open throughout the awards show itself, which means you’ll have a chance to affect the night’s biggest prize until the very last minute.

Hosted by Aziz Ansari, the Movie Awards air live on Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET. Christina Aguilera is to perform a song from new album Bionic, while Katy Perry will take the stage for a rendition of her summer anthem, “California Gurls.” Confirmed presenters include Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove, Shaun White, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean “Diddy” Combs, the cast of “The Grown Ups” (Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider), Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aubrey Plaza.

‘Eclipse’ Star Nikki Reed Says RPattz Has ‘Best Heart’ In New ‘Bookazine’

With “Eclipse” more than a month from hitting theaters, Twilighters have been clamoring for clues about what to expect from the third installment in the vampire saga. While those details may be scarce, a new “bookazine” from the editors of Us Weekly promises some behind-the-scenes scoop guaranteed to please Twi-Hards.

In “The Sexy Stars of Twilight: Eclipse,” on newsstands May 28, some of the “Eclipse” castmembers opened up about what it was like on the movie’s set. The special issue also includes tons of pictures and posters, as well as factoids about the cast and the production.

For instance, cast newcomer Bryce Dallas Howard, who takes over as vampire Victoria, admitted she was initially concerned about joining the already close-knit cast, but found them incredibly welcoming.

“It was something I deeply considered and discussed with many people, because it is a very big deal,” Howard says in the book. To her relief, she discovered “Rob [Pattinson] and Taylor [Lautner] are such great guys. I love those boys! And Kristen [Stewart] was like, ‘Where’s your baby? I want to meet him.’ ”

But rather than KStew, it seems Nikki Reed turned out to be the on-set babysitter. “She’s like a second mom!” Howard remarks. “The other day [my baby] said, ‘I miss Nikki.’ I was like, ‘Honey, I miss Nikki too!’ ”

“We’re such a close family,” Kellan Lutz added.

Reed also dished about what it’s really like to chill with her co-stars.

“OK, P-Fatch [Peter Facinelli] is definitely the jokester and prankster. And he’s very much a father figure — safe and comforting,” Reed said. “Jackson [Rathbone] is the most artsy, creative and, I think, the most talented. Liz Reaser is the most well-read. Kellan and Ashley are very similar: They’re both very driven people, and they both like to go out a lot. A lot of the partying happens around them. [Pattinson] has the best heart.”

Among the hot topics when the “Eclipse” cast stopped by “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Thursday (May 13) was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s rumored romance, Taylor Lautner’s love life and Pattinson’s onetime desire to be a rapper. The trio also dished on their overwhelming fame.

“This means a lot to you guys, and it’s the same deal for me,” Stewart told the Twilighter-filled audience. “I understand that your words have weight, and I mince them when I know everybody’s waiting for them. … Most people’s favorite book is not a part of their lives. It’s never going to happen again.”

“We’ve been sort of central to the whole thing since the beginning,” Pattinson added. “It started, really, when no one knew anything about it. I still, to this day, can’t really connect to the craziness, and it’s a great position to be in. You walk in a room and everybody’s screaming, and it’s not really about you, so it never really goes to your head. You can kind of participate in it.”

Regarding his position on the Time 100 Most Influential People list, he joked, “It’s completely ridiculous. A few years ago, I wouldn’t be able to influence my dog to walk!”

The “Eclipse” crew let loose on the show, especially when Lautner was talking about bulking up to play Jacob. “I basically ate a lot, as much as I could,” he said. “If I was busy or if I was on set or I was in L.A. in meetings, I would have to carry around this little miniature cooler. I would carry around, like, beef patties. … It’s so weird,” he laughed. “I’ll be, like, talking to somebody, and all of a sudden, I’ll just be like: ‘Can you hold on one second? I’ve got to eat a beef patty.’ ”

When co-star Dakota Fanning stopped by, she revealed what girls in her little sister’s school are up to these days. “My sister is 12, and she and her best friend are obsessed with everything ['Twilight'],” Dakota said of fellow actress Elle. “They have the cutouts of Rob and Taylor. They’re actually making a robot at school, and they named it ‘Rob-ot Pattinson.’ ”

The cast knows how much the films mean to the fans, and they said they are still trying to figure out how to balance their real lives with fame. “It’s almost like you live in two different worlds,” Lautner said. “You go into that world, and then you completely vanish, and you go back to your regular life.”

Muse’s Single From The ‘Eclipse’ Soundtrack — Catch a Sneak Peek Here!

When it was announced last week that Muse had been tapped to release the first single off the hotly anticipated “Eclipse” soundtrack, fans of Stephenie Meyers’ vamp-o-riffic series rejoiced. Not only did Muse’s music play an integral part in the creation of the “Twilight” books, but they’ve now managed to land a song on each of the three film soundtracks — there’s something to be said for continuity, after all.

And now that they can actually hear a snippet of that first single — a track called “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)” — and catch a glimpse of the rather dramatic video, well, we expect them to rejoice even harder. Perhaps even spontaneously combust.

The song itself doesn’t stray very far from Muse’s wheelhouse, which is to say that it sounds epic, spacey and positively majestic, full of crashing drums, doomy piano stabs and fleet-fingered guitars that spiral heavenward. Frontman Matthew Bellamy sings for the rafters, belting out couplets like “Love is forever/ And we’ll die, we’ll die together” — which seem to capture the forbidden love between Bella and Edward quite nicely, don’t they?

The video itself is a fairly low-key affair, just the band rocking out on a wide-open stage, while a series of screens flash between colors dramatically, bathing them in various hues. Oh, and as is somewhat fitting for an epic track like this, there’s gratuitous use of slow-motion, too, which only helps capture the sheer bombast of the performance.

“Neutron Star Collision” will hit radio on May 17, and the “Eclipse” soundtrack is due on June 8. But you probably already knew that by now — and, really, why are you still reading this? Check out an exclusive sneak peek of both the song and the video right here, right now!

We already knew about Muse, and, then, throughout the day on Wednesday (May 12), we gradually added even more names to the list — Vampire Weekend, Beck and the Bravery, to rattle off just a few. And now, finally, we know it all: every artist that will contribute a song to the much-anticipated “Eclipse” soundtrack.

Yes, over the course of seven very long hours, the folks at MySpace Music gradually revealed the list of artists and songs that would appear on the album, due June 8. Now, that list is complete.

From the looks of things, it’s shaping up to be a pretty excellent affair. In addition to the previously announced artists, we get a whole lot of indie (Florence and the Machine, Metric, Sia and Band of Horses); genuine fist-pumping, throat-ripping rock and roll (from Jack White’s the Dead Weather and Akron thumpers the Black Keys); ominous electro (UNKLE, who team up with the Black Angels on a track); oddball hip-hop (from Cee-Lo Green); and even some of the classy stuff, courtesy of Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore, who weighs in with “Jacob’s Theme.”

As announced on author Stephenie Meyer’s website last week, the first single from the “Eclipse” soundtrack is slated to be Muse’s rather epically titled “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever),” which will hit radio Monday.
