Planning a wedding with the hilarious but unpredictable Russell Brand can’t be an easy task, but the “Get Him to the Greek” actor’s fiancée, Katy Perry, already has a few ideas for how to turn the couple’s big day into the perfect day.

In an interview with People, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer revealed that she intends to keep the wedding a small affair. “I always have a ton of people around me, and I think the people that are going to share this moment with us are the people we want to integrate into each other’s lives,” said Perry, who added that she and Brand are planning to host “a big, fat reception for the people who can’t make it” to the ceremony.

Perry, recently named the hottest of the hot on Maxim‘s 2010 Hot 100, is already thinking about some of the wedding’s other important details, such as who will design her wedding dress. “We have been kind of talking to [John] Galliano, because that was the first [fashion] show in Paris that we kind of came out as a couple,” Perry said. “So if we did Galliano, it would make it full circle.”

She’s also considering breaking away from her longtime plan to host the wedding in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California. “We don’t necessarily want it to be a drunk fest of people just, you know, one night and then forgetting about it,” Perry said. “We want it to be about the love. So sometimes to be about the love, we have to take them out of their comfort zone.”

Katy Perry and Russell Brand got engaged in December, and several months into the wedding planning, it seems that one of the pair has emerged as the bridezilla. It might not be the one you’re expecting …

“Well, I have to plan my [new album, due this summer] first and then I’m going to get to my wedding,” she told MTV News on the orange carpet at the Kids’ Choice Awards — before she was extravagantly slimed at the show
— over the weekend. “But I’m really excited about that, too.”

Since Perry is so focused on her career, it’s a good thing that Brand is into the whole wedding process. “He’s a total bridezilla. He’s like a freak, man,” she shared about her fiancés hands-on wedding planning. “You should see — he’s always, like, buying bride magazines. Every time we go out for breakfast he’s like, ‘Can we just stop and get a bride magazine?’ ”

Earlier this year, the happy couple spoke to MTV News about their engagement, where they comically debunked pregnancy rumors, and Perry admitted there were times she was a bit overwhelmed by being betrothed to the English funnyman. “Enough! It’s not about the ring,” she said, adding that living with Brand, who she started dating after the VMAs last year, is quite wacky. “Right, hello! My crazy-ass life! What am I doing? Whenever I freak out, I go, ‘This is what I wanted!’”

Right after Forgetting Sarah Marshall hit in 2008, Universal decided to make a spin-off featuring rock star Aldous Snow (played by Brit Russell Brand), the crazy idiot who is screwing Jason Segel’s girl. This is that spin-off, titled Get Him to the Greek, about an assistant at P. Diddy’s record label who has to fly to London and “get” Snow back for a performance in LA. Basically, they’re selling it like The Hangover mixed with an annoying “sweaty little drunk idiot covered in puke” sidekick, played by Jonah Hill. To be entirely honest, I actually think this looks good. It’s got some funny moments and I’m really looking forward to it.

A record company intern is hired to accompany out-of-control British rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) to a concert at LA’s Greek Theater. His only warning: Turn your back on him at your own peril.

Get Him to the Greek is both written and directed by comedy mastermind Nicholas Stoller, the filmmaker behind Forgetting Sarah Marshall previously and a screenwriter for Fun with Dick and Jane and Yes Man as well. Jason Segel is also credited for the creation of the character Aldous Snow. Universal is bringing Get Him to the Greek to theaters everywhere on June 4th this summer. Disney has just debuted another new theatrical trailer for Pixar’s Toy Story 3 today on MySpace. We’ve seen a teaser and a full trailer for this before, but it’s always great to see new trailers, especially those with a lot of new footage for exciting upcoming Pixar movies. This trailer was released in conjunction with a new photo as well that features 14 new characters that will be seen in Toy Story 3. Anyway, it looks like there’s a LOT more to the story that we didn’t know – a wooden bridge over a canyon and a train and explosion? What is going on? Ah I’m so very excited to see this movie – can’t wait till June. Check out the new trailer below!

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are all dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and John Ratzenberger will all be back.

Toy Story 3 is being directed by Lee Unkrich, another one of Pixar’s creative masterminds who previously co-directed Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo. The screenplay was written by Michael Arndt, the Oscar winning screenwriter of Little Miss Sunshine who is a newcomer to the Pixar family. Disney will be bringing Pixar’s Toy Story 3 to theaters everywhere in digital 3D starting on June 18th this summer.

It was last September when Diane Nelson, head of DC Entertanment, said, “we don’t have current plans behind Superman.” A lot can change in five months as Deadline Hollywood has discovered, Christopher Nolan, has been asked to ‘godfather’ a new Superman flick. Let’s be clear that he’s not directing the movie (not yet anyway), but rather guiding the film in the right direction for critics and fans alike. This brand new Superman iteration won’t be a sequel, or even a pseudo reboot/sequel like Superman Returns, but rather an entirely new franchise. It’s about damn time Warner Brothers got the right guy to help Superman fly.

After Superman Returns didn’t quite get the reaction execs were hoping for, the studio learned its lesson and ever since then they’ve been trying to figure out what they wanted to do with Superman. Someone at Warner Bros. told Deadline: “We know what we don’t want to do. But we don’t know what we want to do. We learned a lot from the last movie, and we want to get it right this time.” Hiring Chris Nolan is a step in the right direction, but even a cinematic genius like Nolan could have some trouble with the franchise. More than a few heavy hitters have attempted to get Superman off the ground (no pun intended) and failed.

Tim Burton tried to make one with Nicolas Cage, a then-relatively unknown J.J. Abrams wrote the first script in a trilogy but wasn’t a big enough name to direct, so Brett Ratner and McG tried to do it with Abrams script, but both never got there. But when Bryan Singer was brought on board, it seemed like all was well. Solid set reports, stunning trailers, a seemingly decent Superman, but ultimately, no one really believed a man could fly; at least not enough to return on the $270 million budget. Singer is still in the cards as a director, but I wouldn’t count on it since he’s off preparing his own reboot with X-Men: First Class.

Aside from a desire for a decent Superman flick to do Krypton’s last son justice, there is literally a ticking clock attached to a Superman flick from Warner Brothers. Deadline breaks down the legal mumbo-jumbo:

Attorney Marc Toberoff, who keeps suing Warner Bros on behalf of creative rightsholders, warns that, in 2013, the Jerome Siegel heirs along with the estate of co-creator Joe Shuster will own the entire original copyright to Superman — ‘and neither DC Comics nor Warner Bros will be able to exploit any new ‘Superman’ works without a license from the Siegels and Shusters.’ He’s also pointed out that, if Warner Bros does not start production on a new ‘Superman’ sequel or reboot by 2011, the Siegels could sue to recover their damages on the grounds that the deal should have contained a clause in which the rights returned to the owners after a given time if no film was in development. The heirs of Siegel have already been awarded half the copyright for Superman. And in 2013 the heirs of co-creator Joe Shuster get the remaining half. After that, neither DC Comics nor Warner Bros will be able to use Superman without a financial agreement with the heirs.

Well that sucks for WB and DC. Sounds like someone should’ve gotten a fire lit under their ass a couple years ago. Alan Horn told a court hearing, “We had hopes to keep the character alive and to once again reinvent Superman. Our hope is to develop a Superman property and to try again. What hurt us is that the reviews and so on for the Superman movie did not get the kind of critical acclaim that Batman got, and we have other issues with Superman that concern us.” The fans could say the same thing with the studio approach to Superman, which has largely ignored the comic books in favor of staying true to the campy, albeit somewhat respectful, original films with Christopher Reeves.

Here’s the thing: Superman doesn’t necessarily need to be darker or edgier, which many will assume that’s what Nolan is going to do. He simply needs to be more sophisticated and have more substance. Superman struggles with more than Kryptonite and his love for Lois Lane. There are more limitations on his powers than the green space rock of his home planet, and he fights more villains than simply saving falling people or catching big debris. Superman needs a worthy adversary to fight. And if Lex Luthor’s schemes are going to challenge Superman, then maybe we should move away from that real estate plan. Because no one wants to buy land on a planet made up of jagged Kryptonite, and no one wants to see Superman wasted like this.

And for those of you worried that this is really going to delay a third Batman film, Jonah Nolan and David S. Goyer are indeed working on the screenplay for the next installment like we previously heard. So things will still be on track for the Caped Crusader, and DC Comics should have one hell of an upcoming slate with an established Dark Knight returning soon, a very promising Green Lantern, and an all-new Superman in the works as we speak. You ready for this? MySpace has debuted a brand new red band trailer for Kevin Smith’s Cop Out. Don’t put this on if you’re at work or you may get in trouble – this is some good profanity in this! They even make a joke about an “Unfuckables” porno in this, oh man, gotta love the humor. I know this isn’t written by Kevin Smith, but it definitely has his feeling to it, and I’m totally into it. (Although my only complaint is they ruin that joke at the end, but oh well.) I’m guessing most other people aren’t into this, based on the reaction from the first trailer, but I don’t know. Hopefully this trailer gets you re-interested? We’ll see soon – check it out!

The screenplay was co-written by brothers first-time feature writers Robb and Mark Cullen, of only the TV shows “Heist” and “Las Vegas” previously. Warner Brothers is currently planning on bringing Kevin Smith’s Cop Out to theaters starting on February 26th this month. I’ll definitely be seeing this in theaters, will you?

Another fun stoner movie! AICN has debuted the official poster for Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass starring Edward Norton (twice) as two brothers. We ran a trailer for this last year and I’ve heard that it might be out in theaters sometime this spring, so keep your eyes open at your local art house for Leaves of Grass sometime this year. I like this poster but it’s not perfect, mainly because I’m sure the MPAA told them they’re not allowed to have any marijuana-related symbols or paraphenalia, which I’m sure is why there are some rolling papers and nothing else. I actually really enjoyed this film and suggest everyone check it out!

An Ivy League professor (played by Edward Norton) is lured back to his Oklahoma hometown, where his twin brother, a small-time pot grower, has concocted a simple scheme to take down a local drug lord.

Leaves of Grass is both written and directed by fellow actor Tim Blake Nelson, who directed Eye of God, Othello and The Grey Zone previously. This was produced independently by Tim Blake Nelson and Edward Norton and first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year. It does not have a US distributor yet, as far as we know, but will probably pick up one and hit theaters sometime in 2010. Look good so far?
